Vacuum Cleaners and Carpet Cleaning Machines
The creation of the carpet cleared the way for the next great invention, the carpet cleaning machine. In 1860 in Chicago, the first carpet cleaning machine was engineered and tested. It was a hand held unit. It wasn’t until the 1900s that Cecil Booth invented the first power driven vacuum cleaner.

About the same time, James Spangler invented his own vacuum cleaner that he later sold to his cousin Hoover. I’m sure you can put 2 and 2 together and realize that Hoover is the one that is to this day one of the largest names in vacuum cleaners, and certainly a considerable name in history.

Housewives found the vacuum cleaner to be a great tool that enabled them to get a lot of their house cleaning done in a lot less time than was previously known possible. Vacuum cleaners have always been able to suck up dust and dirt, though most ended at that. Modern technology designed by inventors goes further. They created carpet cleaning machines that wets, steams, and cleans carpets while killing germs too.

Carpets can cover the entire floor of a house, flat, apartment, or otherwise, keeping their occupants feet comfortable in the cold months. Before the carpet cleaning machine, those with carpets would have to sweep their carpets clean. It was a lot more involved, and took a lot of time. It even created job openings at businesses and corporations. And it wasn’t necessarily thorough either, since brooms can tend to push dirt in more than pull it out unless done right.

All vacuum cleaners operate by airflow pumping the dirt into a containment mechanism. It usually comes from a hose of one form or another. Some models include a rotating brush that helps pull up more dirt as well. By the power of belts, motors and other parts, modern day vacuum cleaners do a lot more yet they still have their limits. In the end, you dump the dirt in the trash.

These days you will find seven different variations of the vacuum cleaner. These are the upright, canister, back-pack style, central, robotic, hand-held, and the Wet/Dry.  They come in many packages, sizes, horsepower, with many attachment options as well.

Among the greatest developments in vacuums, was the invention of the extremely popular cyclone carpet cleaner. Beyond the existing vacuum cleaners these machines collect dust and dirt into a large cylinder. They operate on central air force through several filters. The filters catch the dust and dirt into several stages and then the air is recycled through a central outlet.

Beyond this, there will be yet new improvements to clean your carpets. All the choices today make owning carpets more reasonable than ever before, and it’s getting better.
